You Sunk My...

Psuedo beginning of the week action. Still listening to La Casa De Musica. I’ll eventually get to some of the mp threes that I’ve accumulated. It was nice to stumble across a Mandrill cut called Two Sister Mistery. I think the Bomb Squad might’ve sampled it in a P E tune. Uh oh I might’ve violated there by revealing a sample. Oh well heres a gaggle, yeah a gaggle of links and diversions.

Sooner or later you will be able to avoid those lines all together. With the advent of wireless technology you’ll be able to checkout anywhere. As mentioned in this article the line busting technique has been in partial use for some time at Sams. More than likely they’ll move on to the next level as mentioned in the article.

By The Power Of....

End of the week greatness, did yall enjoy ya Turkey Day. Ours was ok, I posted on that elsewhere. Currently listening to: The African Brothers Meet King Tubby In Dub.You can preview some of the tunes here.Yeah some niceness there. I'm always fiendin for some dub reggae. King Tubby,Augustus Pablo,Mad Professor. And others.

Well yesterday was Black Friday. Did yall make it out there to catch all those bargains? Did yall camp out early and fight those crowds. Were you one of those folks who started the near riot at Wallys? Why is it always at wallys? Sheesh.

No I didn’t take advantage of that madness. Was at the weekend spot running the board for five hours for the talent that was doing a live broadcast at the local mall. Yay five hours straight of xmas music. Man my mind wz destroyed, that’s why the post is going up today and not yesterday. Well at least I made a bit more loot for the next paycheck.

Turkey day was okay, had to break out a new gadget to assist in the roasting of the turkey. Pops asked if I had a thermometer, because there wasn’t a pop up in the turkey. Luckily I did have a digital quick read thermometer, but it wasn’t made to stay in the oven so I had to break out the other thermometer. Yeah this one was much more suited for the task. Plus it has a timer, alarm and magnets. I do believe I saw Alton Brown of Good Eats using this type of thermometer.

The title of todays post was a reference to a cartoon show and an upcoming movie according to [IMDB] the person that is cast as Skeletor is also the same person who played Lexs father in Smallville. But I remember the dude from a role he played earlier, as the devil in a tv show. He mentioned a line like the "Eyes are the window to ones soul" you must shoot their eyes to send them back to me…. Plus the movie is supposedly being directed by John Woo which may add a nice punch.

Right about now I’m checking out the latest DJ Hype set from [Kiss 100], he mentioned that he’ll be guesting in DJ Brockie pretty soon. In other words he’ll be there as a special guest. Currently rockin the Ganjaman cut from Hazard I do believe.

Special belated Happy Turkey Day Greetings to Zombie good lookin on the email. Not sure if I wanna know more about how things are at the store though.

Tomorrows menu is extra special, its soopah ridicko special its….drums please…..Turkey day leftovers. Yeah we break things up a bit and usually have the leftovers on the following Sunday. Later on in the week…hmm not sure. That jerk paste is calling out for some attention.

Yesterday was a hella basic menu pasta with meat sauce. Yeah attached the pasta maker to the Stand Mixer. Mixed the dough then..oh wait we don't own a pasta maker and I really didn't want to do the whole Sunday Sauce thingee. Had 9 yardwaste bags of leaves to deal with. Thank goodness for the leaf blower, that was fun! Well here's a partial list of the ingredients: three onions, dry italian seasoning, minced garlc, granulated garlic powder, extra virgin olive oil, crushed red pepper, meat.

Wow its been 6 years. The last time I went to a live event was when they used to do the closed circuit thing at different spots. I think it was for a wrestlemania. Yes yes yalll back again wit a post. Currently listening to Drum N Bass Anthems. Yes another import from across the pond. Got it a few years back when it was new. As usual a good listen because it contained the "best old school jungle and Drum N bass beats" I thought that they bothh were the same. Oh well, before that it was Industrial revolutions mxd by The Usual Suspects. Well I figured I listen to hip hop for a bit, and what better way to re immerse onself than to check out an upcoming release. On the horizon the latest from Talib Kweli. Link from [beautifulhustle.com]. On The reggae side Reggae Hits 35 featuring the 10 year old QQ singing a big tune called Poverty. Back after a wee bit of a hiatus from posting. Early morning wake to music compilation was Various Artisits Mix The Vibe Street King mixed by Mondo Grosso. Yeah a # 1 Shinichi Osawa hailing from Japan. The Mix The Vibe Series is put out on King Street records. Nice website btw. Like the color changing options.

Sundays Food Selections

First preheat ya oven. Take a slab of pork ribs, rinse em ,off then pat dry. Grab some paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, cumin, cracked black pepper, granulated garlic,a lil bit of cayenne pepper, and lil salt. Mix together, thats ya dry rub. Pour it on both sides of the ribs and rub in well. Toss in the oven for a 1 millllllion hours....oh wait 1 and a half to two, I went a bit longer to be on the safe side. Towards the end of the cooking time you can slather on a bbq sauce of your liking. Or you can do what I did.... Besides the ribs also did an improvised chicken stew in the oven instead of on the stove. Used some carrots, pre seasoned sliced potatoes (leftover from a batch of home fries, damn pan can only hold so many, but I digress),green onions, vegetable broth, boneless chix breast. For seasonings I used some Mrs. Dash,Allspice, some chicken & rib rub seasoning,a good amoint of garlic powder, and corn starch to help thicken it all. Plus some seasoned rice ( I was wondering what I was going to do with the chix broth)

Speaking of Menus my nephew/godson has already given me his demands/suggestion for Turkey Day. Sheesh I'll post that later this week.

Gotta love the web

Here's an article from [siliconvalley.com] for those of yall who want to get a jump on Black Friday. No not that Black Friday, I mean the day after Thanksgiving Black Friday. Sheesh.

Turbines to speed...

Uh huh, yeah I fell asleep early but woke up and caught the rebroadcast of The Boondocks. Yeah that was Charlie Murphy's voice and Ed Asner also. Nah Operative 15 tell wifey that the gun thing was a reference to Malcom x. Yeah someone else did the same pose. Na h the theme rap was done by Asheru. But hey 15 there's plenty of spots online for ya info about the show. Yeah I was liking it,was a bit to short though, but i guess they had to get those commercials in there.

Oh hey there didn't see ya, was just talking w Operative 15. Currently listening to Various artsist comp entitled: HVW8 presents Music Is My Art. Some quality stuff on here. Yeah a bit of the downtempo stuff. No it aint drum and bass, figure I give that a rest for a bit. Scroll down this page for a better description. Was also checking out Various Artist Simply Good Music Vol. 1 again.

Szzzzzl you hear that. Thats the sound of the beef portions browning. Here's the ingredient list: Stew beef about 2 pounds, finely chopped onions, finely chopped celery, sliced mushrooms, peeled carrots, frozen green peas, some packets of that instant onion soup mix, flour, various seasonings, pepper, minced garlic granulated garlic. Was going to chop up some potatoes but then I looked in the frig and noticed we had some leftover mashed potatoes, and some green beans. So yesterday dish was beef stew. The mashed potaotes came in handy as a thickening agent. Used about three quarters of the beef the rest was cut into smaller chunks,I'll use that later on this week for something else.

Randomness:
I must have missed this item in the news. But here's an interesting veiwpoint.

Good Day Mate!

Currently listening to a Ray Keith b2b w Nicky Blackmarket Mix from 1xtra courtesy of this website. Not bad,not bad as all.

Nuff respect to Hector for the check in on Saturday. And to answer your question peep Saturdays post for the ingredients. The menu turned out to be the oven roasters with a dry rub consisting of cumin, sweet paprika, onion powder, white pepper, granulated garlic, and some stuff. Used the whole garlic for the cavity, along with one half an onion, and a half of stalk of celery. Sprayed some xtra virgin olive oil on top. Steamed the green beans,Mashed up the potatoes, froze the cranberry sauce and threw it through a window of a yellow H2 hummer....just kidding. Sauteed the spinach w olive oil, chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and some chicken broth. Fuun part was removing the stems from the spinach leaves, boy that was fun! Looks like the stir fry will hapen later on this week.

Brought my little notebook with me and did some writing whilst waiting in the checkout line at the market the other day. Should have a new chapter of fiction toward the end of the week.

Go ahead click on that link in instant messenger and see what happens.

Question Everything Or...

"Wow I can see her now, she's just about to dive. Nice!

Weekend ramblings:

Fellas we need to really work on our target marketing for this movie. Wow what a concept, now if we can get Mr. Jckson to say or do something controversial we'll have box office success.

Still need an idea for a Halloween Mask ?

The ingredients so far:two oven stuffer roasters,4.75lbs of fresh green beans,2-3 lbs of fresh spinach,5lbs of peeled potaoes,1 package of fresh stir fry noodles, one bunch of green onions, one bunch of celery,2 heads of Garlic, A good sized knob of ginger,a bag of california stir-fry veggies, and some cranbery sauce. Thats for tomorrow. Tonight sista made some Monchoopa (yeah I think I spelled it wrong.) A cape verdean dish with beans, samp, seasonings etc and beef. Greetings another short and random post for today..enjoy.

Chop up some onion and set aside, remove some hot italtian turkey sausage from its casing and set aside. Grab some italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, some tomatoe paste, two cans of sauce, and a box of ziti. Now you are ready.

Wow Pepsi's got a dj crew

Been watching adult swim, caught the commercial for The Boondocks which scheduled to begin on November 6th. okayplayer.com has a 30 second promo for the show up on their site.

Its funny to hear Floridians complaining about lack of power when there are folks a few states over who don't even have homes. Then there are those who thought they had homes only to find out that they were being evicted.

Hows this for a line up on a soundtrack:RJD2,The RZA,Notorious B.I.G.,Talib Kweli, and Pharoah Monch. And how about this for star power:George Hamilton,Charlie Murphy,Adam West,MC Serch,Andy Dick, and a few others. Want to know the name of the movie. Well actually it's not a movie, its actually a video game.

Heres an interesting commentary in regards to that new NBA dress code.

To Wet Tuesday

Currently listening to the sounds of Future World Funk on the run compilation disc 2 wich is the down disc. Its a bit more mid to down tempo as compared to the up disc which is disc numero uno. Before that I was checkin out Amon Tobin on a Solid Steel Presents Amon Tobin Recorded Live. Yeah a bit different. I think I'll dig through the piles of doom and see if I can find that go go cd from DJ Flex. Who knows maybe I'll scrape up some cash and cop a Junkyard Band CD

Ok its Tuesday and there are a few new releases that are in the running for the wish list first up a new one from those fellas outta Detroit Slum Village with the aptly titled release Slum Village. Wow what a concept. Also out there a new one from the crew by the name of Self Scientific. Change is the name of this release. On the reggae side, Greensleeves Records hits us over the head with a wicked double cd release by the name of The Biggest One Drop Anthems 2005.

So you're still on the fence regarding that purchase of the iPod Video, maybe some anime to go may help you that leap.

Keeping em short and rant free folks!

Mooonday

Whilst falling down upon my bed,the wall shook causing the cd tower to tip, which in turn caused the cd pictured above to fall, which was cause enough to pick it up and listen to. Of course the title cut was done by none other than Toots & The Maytals, nice too bad they didn't have "Time Tough" from toots up on there. Also was feeling the Ken Boothe tune,"Is it because I am Black".

Slice up a few red peppers and some onions, set aside. Take 4 or 5 tablespoons of minced garlic, some extra virgin olive oil, fresh or dried rosemary and set aside. ARinse off your shoulder lamb chops in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Now you are ready.

Mix together some allspice, garlic powder, some sweet paprika,a little bit of white pepper and set aside. Rinse off your beef flat ribs. Get the ones that are bbq ready. The come prepackaged in cryovac and the tend to have more meat, uniform shape and are easier to work with as compared to the store versions which tend to be flinstone sized. Take the all spice mixture and..

Oh hey there, nah no worries mate by the time it gets here it will be a typical Noreaster, nothing to go crazy about.

Wow so Killa Cam took some bullets...oooh booo hooo. I wonder if that will translate into album sales?

This sounds like a good idea.

Weekend Section 2 Level 16

Quick blurbs

WooHooo! Another wet Saturday, well at least we aint down here.

Currently listening to DJ Hype's latest show on Kiss100. He has special guest Shy FX in the studio promotinng his new full length Diary Of A Digital Soundboy.

Well what have we got here, a rack of beef back ribs, some shoulder lamb chops, fresh red peppers, and some fresh brocoli. Thats the beginnings of tomorrows menu. More details in the next post. Speaking of menu, my neice just made some home made italian dressing. Wow smells very good. She even wrote everything down so she can do it the same way next time around. Yesterday she did sugar cookies.

I think cannibal mentioned something about Ice Cube in one of his comments on my Monday post. The guy who's blogging about Cube also posted some tunes..

Oh wait a sec Hype is playing something from Shy FX's new album....

Ok I'm back, yeah the fella posted some cube songs. It was good to hear Endangered Species feat. Chuck D. And I do beleive that was some Bomb Squad production on there. Ahh those were the days, strong lyrics strong production.

Much thanks to C-Smoothe for the phone call. I may actually check out that Pay Per veiw wit u at the Dunk. Whaddup To Ken Anderson for the inquiry. Got a call from the l's the other day to. I think his mag is on hiatus for a bit but he does have distribution if I remember the convo. We're supposed to have a sit down next week so he can pick my brain.

Was checking out some Baltimore Club music the other day by some dude named Cex,I think it was done in 2004. What you never heard some Club music or Baltimore Breaks or whatver. Here check out this track from rodd lee. And here's a link to that cex mx. Not sure how long it will last. Grabbed the link from Drunk and Focused.

What are you gonna put on your new ipod.

Throooshter 17!

Open padded case, remove scope, barrel, and brace.Check the area again for any persons. Now the waiting begins... Oh hey there I didn't see you climb up the side. Me I'm just up here enjoying the scenery. This, oh its a special measuring device, yeah thats it a measuring device.

Currently listening to a stream of Intabeats with DJ Baily that aired on 1Xtra Sunday the 16th,nice. From what I' read about this show he tends to spin more of the experimental D&B bass but this time around i caught a few recognizable tunes. I'm really feelin the Girlz track by Potential Bad boy feat fats, i do believe I heard DJ Hype or J Majik dropping it. I think shy Fx played it ina set also. A newer tune utilizes abunch of Instant messengr sound fxs, name of the song Aim'd At You by Brokie & Ed Solo. Yeah getting into the Drum & Bass very much now. Maybe I'll slide back towards the Hip Hop in a little bit. Hmmmmm

Been catching up on my adult swim viewing, especially s-CRY-ed I read the manga some time ago, but as usual the anime is a bit different. I would rather check out the subtitled version but I'll suffer through the dub. Also starting to like Fullmetal Alchemist. InuYasha is a given, Naruto is ok,gotta catch up on my Shonen Jump reading though,so I can compare the manga to the Anime, same goes for One Piece.

Here's an article regarding the Sauce magazines latest beef. Wow gotta love Hip Hop. Yeah who doesn't love Hip Hop? Well read this. Much thanks to my brother Joe for forwarding me that article.

For all of those broadband users who use voice over internet protocols like Vonage, guess who's gonna be listening in.

Free wi-fi! Industry doesn't want to here that f word.

And finally if yall are tired of those grey Timbos, why dont you creat ya only specially designed pair.

Ok enjoy the evening.

October 19, 2005

Hmmmmm Day

G'Day mate, started to listen to this double cd entitled Niney & Friends Blood & Fire: Hit Sounds From The Observer Station 1970-1978. Almost called up Operative 15 to come by and set up his 18's so I could blast this stuff out in the yard. Max romeo,Dennis Alcapone,The Ethiopians, wow pure fire here!

Grab about three good sized onions, some smoked sausage,3 or 4 white potatoes, frozen geen peas, cumin, allspice, garlic powder or minced garlic, salt free mesquite grill seasoning, flour and some beef stock. Do a rough slice on the onions and set aside, peel and chop the potatoes in to chunks set em in some cold water till your ready to use em. Slice the smoked sausage in half lengthwise, then slice into chunks. Get out your oval shaped roaster pan w lid. Spray a litlle non stick on. Not to much because the smoked sausgae will generate its own amount of grease. Place the pan over a medium high heat, then...

Oh hey there how yall doing. Yeah its the middle of the week and the above recipe was yesterdays one pot meal. From the amount that the was left over it looked as if everyone enjoyed it,even my godson/nephew who tends to be a bit picky sometimes. As mentioned above I started listening to the Niney and Friends cd (its the wake to music cd alarm) then did the morning rituals. Later on I popped in on of those dreaded "reggae mx cds" that my friend hates. dude have you faxed the spot yet cause it looks like ya buddy Rau is getting orders on the regular from there. Currently I am listening to a stream of a Dj Bailey mix from LIQUIDFUNK.CO.UK after that I checked out the calibre one feat DRS handlin the hosting duties, nice. DRS has a nice flow not as crazy as some of the other jungle mcs well he's mellow on this set but I digress.

Yesterday was Tuesday so a few things of interest to me dropped in ya local chain store.

6 Hole Records recording artist asamov dropped their latest release And Now. featuring Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, J-Live and others helping out these Jacksonville Floridians. ABB Records represents with the new one from Big Tone, had the advance for a minute, now I gotta dig it out again from the pile o doom. On the world music scene the same label that brought you Bar Bhangra comes the newest release in that series. This time around they're featuring Brazilian influenced tunes in a collection called Bar Brazilia feat Thievery Corporation, Ive Mendes, Ursula 1000 and a gang of others. Gonna have to add that to my wish list. Also from the same label is Cuba Cuba put together by the same person that brought you the Hecho En Cuba series.

Finally got around to checking out APPLESEED, crazy amount of cgi in this Anime release. Also checked out DEAD LEAVES. Which is a hella crazy anime release. Way to much going on at once sometimes.
