Early Morning Music Selection:DJ Craze-Miami Heat, yeah Craze is a Three Times DMC champ known for his Hip Hop turntablism skills,but this CD is different its a Drum and Bass CD. Yeah a nice collection of tunes with tracks from Total Science,Zinc,Juju,Q project and others. Listened to the DJ Jazzy Jeff cd that I mentioned in yesterdays post. Damn that was funky.Featuring tracks from Ladybug Mecca with Martin Luther,Michael Bohannon,Pete Rock and others.

Ok what a way to begin the weekend. Yesterday I received a call from a fellow employee to inform me that fearless leader was having the lock changed on the front door. Wow I guess he didn't like the note that I left with the amount he owes me. Well I am now no longer an employee there..

Other news of interest Skippee the owner of the chain had his day in court yesterday and he was fined $5000.00 payable to the R I double AA in a year or else. That was based on 5 dollars per CD that was removed from one store in the mass area. Not sure whats going to happen down here as they keep on going through the whole pre trial conference thing.

Thurz/Day 2

Pre store opening music selection would've been DJ Jazzy Jeff The Soul Mxtape but the magic slip of paper wasn't at the store so I did a quick inventory,set the alarm locked the door and walked home.

Pre heat oven to 450 degrees, peel some Russet potatoes,rinse em well, slice into medium sized chunks then season with kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper. Place..oh hey there didn't see you peeking in through the window. Come on in.



Ah yes so the question remainz, do I do some orders from home today? Hmmm, well I did do a quick inventory. And we did sell out of the new Sean Paul The Trinity CD,and we do need the Lil Kim wax. Hmmm


Gotta get use of a digital camera so I can post some flicks of the store. Whew, look at how neat the rows of records are,everything is neat and not all over the place.

Actually there is no pre store opening music selection today. I decided to take a day off. I didn't call in sick, I just didn't show up. Got tired of working for free for the past few weeks so I figured that I stay out of work for a day...or two and get some yard work done. Wow I never realized building a retaining wall would involve so many people. Thats me up there in the background by the fence. Um yeah right. Actually did the usual cut the grass,trim the outta control bush on the side of the house so now we can look out the window.

Fearless leader had another day in court yesterday which turned out to be another pre-trial conference.

Had a chance to start listening to the sampler for the upcoming Dave Ghetto-Lovelife? release,It's scheduled for the 25th of this month and features: Cee-Lo Green, 9th Wonder & Phonte of Little Brother, Mystic, and others. Here take a listen.

Yay the week begins. Oh wait I forgot to post yesterday and Saturday so here we go. Did the the afterwork errand thing Saturday. Checked out the latest DJ Hype streamed show over atkiss100,his special guest was Mampi Swift who has a new CD coming out entitled Mampi Swift 'Music Forever'. Not sure if it's out over here, but I'm looking for it.

Season the flour with granulated garlic,fresh cracked pepper,onion powder,some St Louis Style Smokey Mesquite seasoning and mix well then take the boneless chicken breasts and. Oh hey didn't see yall still there. Yesterday I did up a chicken stew ,some freshly steamed green beans, sista hooked up some jag with black eyed peas, and pops boiled up some sweet potatoes. Nah no grilling yesterday maybe next weekend.

Fearless leader has another court date tomorrow,we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Tons of orders have come through, hundreds of customers have showed their love and bought out our entire inventory, and fearless leader was bitch slapped about four times by an irate female customer that he attemped to flirt with....ahhhh I was day dreaming again. Oh well.

Yeah the tumbleweeds are definately making some noise in the aisle,even they are bored. So far we have three empty bins on the wall,looks like we'll have a few more by the end of business today hopefully.

I've been thinking of diffirent ways of quitting this spot. From the offical written notice that fearless leader would more than likey lose,to the evil leave a note with a map as to where he can find my front door key. Here's another

Yeah the fun always continues . We had a visit bt Stiles Pee & Sheak Loooch (yeah spelled wrong intentionally) yesterday. The were in the area promoting their albums which are scheduled for......November release. Whooo hoo. Wow it was great to hear them on the radio hyping up the project. Then they stopped by the store. Unfortunately I was gone for the day so I didn't get to chop it up wit the D Blck representatives. But I did get an autographed picture from Stiles Pee and some promos of their latest single. Wow fearless leader is slipping,he usually prices up the promos. I guess he didn't have time.

Hmm, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the free time that I will have on my hands for a while. Lets see, landscaping around the house, organize the basement,catch up on reading material,catch up on Anime DVDS.

And why would I have so much free time you may ask?

Well Fearless Leader had another morning in Superior Court. It Looks like he won't be doing any jail time....no comment...but he will be back in court next week......no comment.



I wanna take a moment to pour a little out for a friend by the name Hector DJ Such Torres, he was a nice individual I dealt with him back in the college radio days,then linked up with him at Buds Distribution then again at that spot on LI. It's too bad he's gone I will miss him ...and now a moment of...oh wait he's not dead, he was let go, shown the door, handed an empty box and a smile. Saturday Whut! Whut!

Pre-heat you oven to 400 degrees, then slice up four onions,three green peppers,place on cookie sheet, grab about six or seven whole cloves of garlic, partially mash to release some flavor. Add the them to the cookie sheet along with the onions and peppers,toss on some kosher salt, granulated garlic powder,and freshly cracked black pepper. Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil over the top then place oh hey, when did you sneak in. I thought I locked the door. Hey what's the deal with that sledge hammer...

Hey all weekend greetings go out to the those who check in. Did the Saturday errand thing,three hours worth. Yikes! Picked up some Pineapples and a bunch o Bananas at Sams, pops grabbed a Honeydew Melon and a good sized watermelon. Apple seasons drawing near in this region,can't wait for that.

Mmmmm good. Wow did a mid afternoon snack for the house. Grabbed a couple of those pizza shells, the rectangular ones, and tossed the mixture mentioned at the top along with some mushroom garlic pasta sauce I think, hold on a sec lemme go check the package......



Right, yeah it was mushroom garlic. Tossed some fresh Basil leaves on the top and tossed it in the oven. Tomorrow's menu looks like smothered cabbage,roasted white potatoes (next time I gotta try the sweet potatoes), beef short ribs (not sure if I'll use bbq sauce or make a brown gravy. Oh wait I'm grillin this stuff. Yeah! And maybe some stir fry vegetables,not sure if my niece will be able to get with the ribs because of her braces. Oh well.

Still wokring on chapter three of the fiction. Well it looks good in my head. The title will be Jase's Journey, it's a working title.

Fearless leader has another court date this Tuesday I think. He mentioned that they finally met the prosecutor/lawyer who will be handling case for the State Of RI. From what I understand,this was the first time that the prosecutor/lawyer has actually seen the material for the case.

Forgot to mention the release of the new Da Real Live Thing a CD/DVD combo of music and concert footage from Sizzla,came out last week,forgot to order it for the store. Oops.

Got to see the pile off doom, otherwise know as the stacks of CD's that fearless leader is going to attempt to return to various distributors. I see that he's gonna attempt to send some to a spot that we haven't used in years. And I do believe theirs a stack for the folks in Laurel... I think its only 4 Cds, can't wait to see what else he'll scrape together to make up for the cost of postage.

Damn gotta remember to do prep work. Used the food mill for the mashed potaoes.The one that I have has three screens not two. Also used a flavor injector thingee for the honey mustard teriyaki marinade. Added roasted asparagus with balsamic vinegar to the menu (good sale price on asparagus,plus sister & the niece love them some aparagus). Picking the stems of the spinach brought back busboy/dishwasher memories yikes.

Ah yes got a call from a fellow employee about the goings on at the store today. Was going to walk into the store and tear fearless leader a new one (I was in the parking lot at the time,cz we just came out of the supermarket) but the fellow employee suggested that I stay away, he already directed a few choice comments towards fearless leader and I also realized hey its Saturday I'm not in the building on Saturdays, yeaaah I'll deal with the fun on Monday. Even though I didn't step foot in the store, I still adjusted an order at one of our distributors through their website. Gotta love the internet. I know my sales person will be surprised Monday morning when he sees the shopping cart with quite a few items in it. And I know of another sales person who may not be to happy unless he gets his shipment in Monday.

Moms has decided that the menu for tomorrow will be....drums please......

Roast Turkey,Spinach,Mashed Potatoes,stuffing,cranberry sauce. Yeah thew me for a loop, I was gonna do something with some boneless chicken breast. Well lemme see, the turkey may get the honey mustard teriyaki overnight marinade treatment,mashed potatoes may get some roasted garlic,and spinach may get the sautee type of treatment. I'll do the chicken breast thingees towards the middle of the week. Yeah I know I'm tempting fate trying to grill after getting out the oh so fun store for the day. We shall see what happens.

Pre Store Opening Music Selection: Rich Medina-Connecting The Dots Advance cd so far not bad. Nice spoken word hip hop etc he's a producer also. Release date is scheduled for October 4th. Fearless leader handed me the promo of the New Damian "Jr Gong" Marley cd scheduled for release this Tuesday. I think we under ordered,uh oh. Tuesday should be interesting. Just liberated the clean promo cd of Kanye,will get to that this weekend hopefully.

It's Friday, UPS has come and gone,got the two boxes of vinyl checked in and priced. Yaaay. Was actually able to get some of the 7 inches out to. Now if only the customers would come. Fed Ex is MIA looks like we have a new driver.

Music Make De World Go Round...
Just got in the new Juelz Santana-There It Go 12 inch. The whistle song, local station just added it to rotation after weeks of getting mix show play. I'm feelin it in a mindless sort of way. The whistled hook grabs ya. It could qualify for the short bus head noddin track of the week. Jazze Pha & Cee•Lo Green are on a track called Happy Hour. Kind of funy not sure how well the track wil do up in these parts. Had a convo witha person in the know at a commercial station and he mentioned a few tunes that were making some noise. T.O.K. Footprints is a huge tune very huge in terms of requests etc, plus on the retail front we just sold out of the cd. Speaking of reggae looks like Bobby Konders Truth & Rights Riddim reworking might be the next big ting on the commercial side. Just heard You Are So-by Richie Spice on the commercial radio hip hop mix show. Yeah I was told that the "slow" reggae seems to buzzing more at radio. (I think he was refering to the conscious stuff).

Well I gave him low numbers.I know I should've went for higher numbers,oh well. He should know himself considering most of the customers usually head to him first. I guess he didn't realize that paul wall was reppin swisha house along with Mike Jones. Cause he stays on top of stuff like that. Yeah right. Gotta remember to hang up some more Paul Wall posters.

Pre Store Opening Music Selections for Thursday & Friday: Jungle Massive a double cd set done properly by DJ Hype,Breakbeat Bass mixed by Aquasky feat a gaggle(?) of breakbeat anthems. Here's a bit more about the cd. V Forever Baby! Chilled a bit with Om:Beach,and got my skank on wit Riddim Skank Volume feat Tunes on the following rhythms Overdue,Hand Cart Bwoy,and How Could I live. I'll get a cd cover up sometime next week for those who like those sort of things. Currently I'm listening to an archived stream of DJ Hype's latest show on KISS100

Right, did the three station beach traffic report thing today at the weekend job. Luckily tomorrow will be the last beach reports for the year. I didn't mind running them,it broke things up a bit. The only bad thing was the running up and down the stairs,but hey I need the exercise.

Well it has been a bit since I posted, was caught up in the Katrina coverage. Was checking a bunch of websites and blogs all day yesterday, yeah I was that busy. Then I came home and had to turn off the tv last night after seeing the ridiculousness of the fox coverage.

Found out that we are actually going to be closed on Labor day wow and fearless leader didn't wait till I was walking out the door at 8 p.m. to tell me. Wow he also reminded me that he has his next court date a PTC pre trial conference, if I remember correctly this coming Tuesday. What a way to end a long weekend.

Looks like I'll be firing up the Weber grill tomorrow. Menu so far looks like Jerk Chicken Leg Quarters,plus some regular (is there such a thing) style chicken, grilled corn on the cob,roasted green peppers,onions for some turkey sausage and peppers,maybe some grilled potatoes, and some other sides I guess. The menu is always a work in progress. Hmm

Okay so I av a day off, maybe I'll head across the pond for some bangers and mash...lol
