Nexxt Day.

If you look at the above picture closely you might actually be able to see me holding up a protest sign.

Hmmm whats this?
While straightening out a few of the electrical cords, I stumbled across a cd. It features Sizzla, Chrisinti,Turbulence,Abijah,Chezidek, and Natural Black, plus a few others. Had to pop it in to get my monthly dose of reggae. Reggae Now Vol. 3 is the title of this particular collection of tunes on Bogaluusa records. And because that wasn’t enough, I dug into one of the piles of doom and found another dose of reggae. This one featured King Tubby,Prince Jammy, Big Youth, The Congos,Jackie Mitto and a few others. This collection highlighted one particular label out of the UK. Put together by the label founder the CD by the name of Run It Red has 20 tracks of quality tunes from the Blood and Fire Label.

Pre-heat ya oven to 425 or so,take a good sized potatoe, scrub it clean. Grab your mandolin slicer and julienne the potatoe, rinse and let drain in a strainer.take a half of an onion and julienne that also, set that aside. Grab a small pan and spray w some non stick spray, then heat it up on a medium high flame,Add some vegetable oil, once the oil is hot enough add the potatoes, season with kosher salt and pepper. Let the potaoes brown for a bit,add the onions and mix em well with potatoes, let em brown for a bit, while they are browning grab a couple of eggs, some milk or cream. Mix the egg and milk or cream mixture in a bowl with a whisk or fork, pour on top of the potatoe onion mixture. Using a spoon or spatula ,pull the eggs away from the edges, you don’t wanna scramble, you just want to see those curds or whatever start forming. Once the mixture starts firm a bit place it in the oven for….damn I forgot to time it oh well, just watch it rise …..

Well looks lik the folks at Sonee/bmgee have decided to face the music …yeah that was an awful pun…But I wonder if it may be too late? I would be hella wary of buying any of that labels stuff for a long time. Like I’m actually gong to by a cd anytime soon.

Monday Mambo

Contrary to popular belief I was not in bolivia last week even though i may or may not be in the picture above.

Currently bobbin the dome to a a nice lil cd entitled Soul Heaven Presents Jazzy Jeff In the House. Nice collection of tunes. Like the fact that he started off the cd with some Temptations.

Yeah took lil step away from the posting thing thing for a number of reasons. One was I put in some extra hours at my weekend spot last week. Thurs & Fri, its was interesting to say the least running the board for the talent while they were at a local mall broadcasting live.

One more holiday to go. Yesterdays menu wasn’t as large as turkey day. We had a small roast turkey (got to use the fun thermometer), spiral sliced spiced ham (booo swine) mac and cheese, stuffing, greens (collards, kale, turnip),stuffing, and sweet potatoes w some apples mixed in. Desert was pies and a homemade poundcake that the niece did w a lil help from her moms. She also did up some sugar cookies earlier in the week. New Years day menu is still up in the air. We usually have pigs feet w black eyed peas. Well they do I stopped eating swine a long time ago about the same time I picked up the koraan…I’m kidding about picking up the book . Hmm if not pigs feet maybe a herb roasted leg of lamb w roasted root vegetables.,maybe served over cous cous, with some spicy gravy. Hmmmmmm

Much thanks to____ over at_____ ______ in Brooklyn for the check in the other day. It’s a good thing that you didn’t have to go far to get to work during that short ass strike. Not sure if I can post his name, maybe I‘ll do it when I get around to the whole do I really miss it post about the store. I did find out some interesting things in regards to Fearless Leader and the outcome of his various court dates.

Wow have ya peeped the Labs LA store enuff space in there for me to work on my windmills and do a few suicides. I know I’ll only be able to some uprockin in the manhatttan store though. And there’s no nightmarish amount of stairs to climb, amazing.

I’m aboot oops still got the accent eh! I mean I’m about to pop in the mx CD that came with the Stones Throw 101 dvd. A nice way to start off things. And since yall clicked the link for the 101 DVD you might as way click this one for info on Jdillas new one due out in Feb and if you are really fiendin for it you can put in a pre order at this website here. Almost made a sarcastic remark about pre-orders, but I wont go there.

Well the Lamb Chops with the roasted fennel & pablano peppers didn’t happen. Have you seen the prices of peppers? Damn! Had to settle for some smothered cube steaks served over egg noodles. Still trying to figure out the holiday menu. I know sista has requested spiral ham…oh joy swine. Still working on the other meat item. Thank the spirits that meal wont be a huge affair (food wise) like turkey day. According to the preliminary shopping list we may have mac & cheese, greens, and something elese. Im leaning more towards hamburgers with sauteed oinions and mushrooms but that wouldn't be appreciated for a holiday meal. Oh well.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekend!

What a week cold temps and a mess of a storm. Currently checking out a stream of DJ flights latest show from 1xtra. Was supposed to have a special guest but problems arose so no guest for this show. After that i went on to check out what was up on L-Doubles show.

Gotta love the weekly storms of aggrivation that mother nature seems to be throwing at us. The one that passed through yesterday had similar makings of the spectacular one from last week. But we were on the warm side this time around. We did get some ice hella early, believe me it was fun trying to walk in it,but then it changed to rain and temps actually got up to 50 for a bit and we had wee bit of tha dank mist for a while.

Thursday Option 1

Ah back again after a brief hiatus. Went to Alberta to escape it all for wee bit. Its amazing what you can do with some well placed phone calls and incriminating photos. Yaaaay freedom!

Cold enough for ya? Try walking in it. Hopefully by the time this gets posted the cold will have given way to some thing else.

Increase the flavor

Did a small batch of Jerked chicken thighs, and sistats missed out, plus the nephew didn’t think it was spicy enough. So….

Take some boneless chicken breasts and rinse well in cold water then pat dry. Grab a sharp chefs knife or a good santoku knife and slice into breast at a slant, try not to cut allk they way through. Places partially sliced breast into a ziploc plastic bag, take out your handy dandy jar of graace jerk seasoning/paste add a few (a heavy few) teaspoons to ya zip lock bag, and also a few teaspoons of allspice. And if yo have em some freshlly chopped green onions. Force all the air out of the bag then seal it. Knead rub manipulate the bag well until the chicken is well coated. Place in the refrig and let marinate over night. Now you are ready.

It's A Thurzdaaay!

Yes it’s still little cold outside, almost thought about putting on the thermals, but I was already on the stroll to the store to grab the paper and it would’ve been a waste of time to turn around. Plus the walk warmed me up a bit, next time I gotta do the scarf thing. Facemask would even be better but the whole walking into a convenience store with a face mask on may not be wise thing to do. It was bad enough the other day when the girl kept on staring at my hiking staff.

Mid-day music selection Various artists: Fabric 10 mxd by Doc Martin cool head nodding bunch of house tunes. On deck for future listening The Rustlers-Roots Of Funk, and an older paull nice cd.

December 06, 2005

Ooooooom!

Been lookin at this particular CD for a bit, finally popped it in.

Todays musical selection is a dub cd entitled 7x7 Lee Scratch Perry Vs King Tubby In Dub. Good tunes on this one, evenly split between King Tubby and The Upsetters.

Well looks like we missed a substantial snowfall. Bummer. Don’t worry though, winter hasn’t officially started yet, so we have weeks of weather fun to look forward to. I think the worse sign of things to come was this past weekend when I was at the weekend spot loading production, monitoring the station and heard that-Its Beginning To Look Like Xmas Tune, then I looked out the window and noticed the snow coming down. Sheesh

Its always great to watch the local weather forecasters hem and haw over the precipatation. They never really give you an accurate amount. I guess they’re still suffering from the "78" nightmare.

Hmmm I think I used a bit to much tomato paste…
Well Sundays Menu was off set a bit, didn’t do the roasted potatoes, they were used earlier in the day for home fries, and didn’t get to the cabbage.

Here we go take your chicken thighs and rinse well. Or do the brine thing. Well since we aint grillin today it will be a brief brining with a little bit of kosher salt & sugar. While the chicken thighs are brining…just 10 to 15 mins grab the rest of your ingredients. Minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, freshly minced ginger, white pepper, and some Mrs Dash seasoning. Now you are ready. Hmmm maybe I’ll reserve a few of those chicken thighs and marinate em in some jerk paste. And looks like that cabbage will be put to good use also. Just need some onions, chicken stock,paprika,and....

According to the latest newsletter from my cable provider we will be getting some new channels added to the line up. Of interest to me is TV One gotta check out that Amercn Legacy show.

Ah the weekend is here. And with it comes another one of those short posts. Did the short errand thing, and grabbed some items for the menu. Not to spectacular this time around. Midweek

Yeah it says midweek-it was supposed to go up yesterday but I went to Valdez Alaska for a day to celebrate another year of life for me on the planet so it’s a bit late.

Currently listening to a rebroadcast stream of Fabio on BBC’s Radio 1 Urban . Had a singer up there by the name of Jennna G She was hyping up her new release I think, unfotunately her voice kind of gave out so she couldn’t really get down but promised to come correct next time around.

Well looks like the cold weather is startin to trickle in. I know we got a tease during the holiday weekend. Actually had to bust out the South Pole bomber (do they still call em that) winter jacket. Didn’t get to the face mask hawk yet. Cant wait for that.

Take a couple of onions (wow I always start off with onions) I need to change it up. Chop em up fine and set aside. Grab a knob of ginger from the freezer (yeah I said freezer) it makes em easier to grate. Grate a few tablespoons worth, also grab a few tablespoons of minced garlic, some vegetable oil, a teaspon of crushed red pepper flakes, some shredded carrots, sliced shitaki mushrooms, snow peas, some vegetable broth, and some vegetarian stir fry sauce. Now you are ready.

Damn I wish I had all of those ingredients in the house, it was sounding pretty yummy. Oh well.

By The Power Of....

End of the week greatness, did yall enjoy ya Turkey Day. Ours was ok, I posted on that elsewhere. Currently listening to: The African Brothers Meet King Tubby In Dub.You can preview some of the tunes here.Yeah some niceness there. I'm always fiendin for some dub reggae. King Tubby,Augustus Pablo,Mad Professor. And others.

Well yesterday was Black Friday. Did yall make it out there to catch all those bargains? Did yall camp out early and fight those crowds. Were you one of those folks who started the near riot at Wallys? Why is it always at wallys? Sheesh.

No I didn’t take advantage of that madness. Was at the weekend spot running the board for five hours for the talent that was doing a live broadcast at the local mall. Yay five hours straight of xmas music. Man my mind wz destroyed, that’s why the post is going up today and not yesterday. Well at least I made a bit more loot for the next paycheck.

Turkey day was okay, had to break out a new gadget to assist in the roasting of the turkey. Pops asked if I had a thermometer, because there wasn’t a pop up in the turkey. Luckily I did have a digital quick read thermometer, but it wasn’t made to stay in the oven so I had to break out the other thermometer. Yeah this one was much more suited for the task. Plus it has a timer, alarm and magnets. I do believe I saw Alton Brown of Good Eats using this type of thermometer.

The title of todays post was a reference to a cartoon show and an upcoming movie according to [IMDB] the person that is cast as Skeletor is also the same person who played Lexs father in Smallville. But I remember the dude from a role he played earlier, as the devil in a tv show. He mentioned a line like the "Eyes are the window to ones soul" you must shoot their eyes to send them back to me…. Plus the movie is supposedly being directed by John Woo which may add a nice punch.

Right about now I’m checking out the latest DJ Hype set from [Kiss 100], he mentioned that he’ll be guesting in DJ Brockie pretty soon. In other words he’ll be there as a special guest. Currently rockin the Ganjaman cut from Hazard I do believe.

Special belated Happy Turkey Day Greetings to Zombie good lookin on the email. Not sure if I wanna know more about how things are at the store though.

Desert looks like some pies I think sweet potatoe, blueberry, and apple plus, pumpkin cheesecake. Wow this time around alot of prep was done before hand Yay!

Sundays Food Selections

First preheat ya oven. Take a slab of pork ribs, rinse em ,off then pat dry. Grab some paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, cumin, cracked black pepper, granulated garlic,a lil bit of cayenne pepper, and lil salt. Mix together, thats ya dry rub. Pour it on both sides of the ribs and rub in well. Toss in the oven for a 1 millllllion hours....oh wait 1 and a half to two, I went a bit longer to be on the safe side. Towards the end of the cooking time you can slather on a bbq sauce of your liking. Or you can do what I did.... Besides the ribs also did an improvised chicken stew in the oven instead of on the stove. Used some carrots, pre seasoned sliced potatoes (leftover from a batch of home fries, damn pan can only hold so many, but I digress),green onions, vegetable broth, boneless chix breast. For seasonings I used some Mrs. Dash,Allspice, some chicken & rib rub seasoning,a good amoint of garlic powder, and corn starch to help thicken it all. Plus some seasoned rice ( I was wondering what I was going to do with the chix broth)

Speaking of Menus my nephew/godson has already given me his demands/suggestion for Turkey Day. Sheesh I'll post that later this week.

Uh huh, yeah I fell asleep early but woke up and caught the rebroadcast of The Boondocks. Yeah that was Charlie Murphy's voice and Ed Asner also. Nah Operative 15 tell wifey that the gun thing was a reference to Malcom x. Yeah someone else did the same pose. Na h the theme rap was done by Asheru. But hey 15 there's plenty of spots online for ya info about the show. Yeah I was liking it,was a bit to short though, but i guess they had to get those commercials in there.

Oh hey there didn't see ya, was just talking w Operative 15. Currently listening to Various artsist comp entitled: HVW8 presents Music Is My Art. Some quality stuff on here. Yeah a bit of the downtempo stuff. No it aint drum and bass, figure I give that a rest for a bit. Scroll down this page for a better description. Was also checking out Various Artist Simply Good Music Vol. 1 again.

Szzzzzl you hear that. Thats the sound of the beef portions browning. Here's the ingredient list: Stew beef about 2 pounds, finely chopped onions, finely chopped celery, sliced mushrooms, peeled carrots, frozen green peas, some packets of that instant onion soup mix, flour, various seasonings, pepper, minced garlic granulated garlic. Was going to chop up some potatoes but then I looked in the frig and noticed we had some leftover mashed potatoes, and some green beans. So yesterday dish was beef stew. The mashed potaotes came in handy as a thickening agent. Used about three quarters of the beef the rest was cut into smaller chunks,I'll use that later on this week for something else.

Randomness:
I must have missed this item in the news. But here's an interesting veiwpoint.

Wow so now its causing a rise in crime.Hmmm

So what else can you put on your ipod video?

And its good to see that Lfeelworthy got some pictures up at his spot. He works at a TV station in Hotlanta.

Thats all, gonna go play in traffic for a while.

Whoa this one sneaked up on me. So if i wanted the exclusive I would've have to check out beszt buy. Oh Damn gotta remmeber that. But now it should be available everywhere. Then I was seeking more info and I found this article.

Oh no say it isn't so making copies of cds may become harder. Oh darn! Much thanks to my brother joe for the forward. Yeah it's an interesting article. Yeah some folks may cry and bemoan the fact but there are ways around,as mentioned in the article. Plus there's always the possibility of coping the bootleg or one of those dreaded mix c's.

Speaking of those dreaded ....Fearless Leader has agreed to settle. Not sure how much he has to pay though. From what an employee was saying to me in an instant message it wasn't that much but he's still complaining. Oh well.

And to answer another one of Hectors questions, I will not throw a brick through the window.

Ok now some random links:

Booooooooo!

Good Day Mate!

Currently listening to a Ray Keith b2b w Nicky Blackmarket Mix from 1xtra courtesy of this website. Not bad,not bad as all.

Nuff respect to Hector for the check in on Saturday. And to answer your question peep Saturdays post for the ingredients. The menu turned out to be the oven roasters with a dry rub consisting of cumin, sweet paprika, onion powder, white pepper, granulated garlic, and some stuff. Used the whole garlic for the cavity, along with one half an onion, and a half of stalk of celery. Sprayed some xtra virgin olive oil on top. Steamed the green beans,Mashed up the potatoes, froze the cranberry sauce and threw it through a window of a yellow H2 hummer....just kidding. Sauteed the spinach w olive oil, chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and some chicken broth. Fuun part was removing the stems from the spinach leaves, boy that was fun! Looks like the stir fry will hapen later on this week.

Brought my little notebook with me and did some writing whilst waiting in the checkout line at the market the other day. Should have a new chapter of fiction toward the end of the week.

Go ahead click on that link in instant messenger and see what happens.

How computer folk have fun with a pumpkin.

These folks didn't want an autograph from The Game this is the link to the video of the actual spraying. Grabbed it from this spot.

Wow, how many video downloads?

Question Everything Or...

"Wow I can see her now, she's just about to dive. Nice!

Weekend ramblings:

Fellas we need to really work on our target marketing for this movie. Wow what a concept, now if we can get Mr. Jckson to say or do something controversial we'll have box office success.

Still need an idea for a Halloween Mask ?

The ingredients so far:two oven stuffer roasters,4.75lbs of fresh green beans,2-3 lbs of fresh spinach,5lbs of peeled potaoes,1 package of fresh stir fry noodles, one bunch of green onions, one bunch of celery,2 heads of Garlic, A good sized knob of ginger,a bag of california stir-fry veggies, and some cranbery sauce. Thats for tomorrow. Tonight sista made some Monchoopa (yeah I think I spelled it wrong.) A cape verdean dish with beans, samp, seasonings etc and beef. It usually is made w pork but not everyone in the house eats pork sooo.

Thurzday

Who's that gal pictured up above?

Greetings another short and random post for today..enjoy.

Chop up some onion and set aside, remove some hot italtian turkey sausage from its casing and set aside. Grab some italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, some tomatoe paste, two cans of sauce, and a box of ziti. Now you are ready.

Wow Pepsi's got a dj crew

Been watching adult swim, caught the commercial for The Boondocks which scheduled to begin on November 6th. okayplayer.com has a 30 second promo for the show up on their site.

Its funny to hear Floridians complaining about lack of power when there are folks a few states over who don't even have homes. Then there are those who thought they had homes only to find out that they were being evicted.

Hows this for a line up on a soundtrack:RJD2,The RZA,Notorious B.I.G.,Talib Kweli, and Pharoah Monch. And how about this for star power:George Hamilton,Charlie Murphy,Adam West,MC Serch,Andy Dick, and a few others. Want to know the name of the movie. Well actually it's not a movie, its actually a video game.

Heres an interesting commentary in regards to that new NBA dress code.

To Wet Tuesday

Currently listening to the sounds of Future World Funk on the run compilation disc 2 wich is the down disc. Its a bit more mid to down tempo as compared to the up disc which is disc numero uno. Before that I was checkin out Amon Tobin on a Solid Steel Presents Amon Tobin Recorded Live. Yeah a bit different. I think I'll dig through the piles of doom and see if I can find that go go cd from DJ Flex. Who knows maybe I'll scrape up some cash and cop a Junkyard Band CD

Ok its Tuesday and there are a few new releases that are in the running for the wish list first up a new one from those fellas outta Detroit Slum Village with the aptly titled release Slum Village. Wow what a concept. Also out there a new one from the crew by the name of Self Scientific. Change is the name of this release. On the reggae side, Greensleeves Records hits us over the head with a wicked double cd release by the name of The Biggest One Drop Anthems 2005.

So you're still on the fence regarding that purchase of the iPod Video, maybe some anime to go may help you that leap.

Keeping em short and rant free folks!

Mooonday

Whilst falling down upon my bed,the wall shook causing the cd tower to tip, which in turn caused the cd pictured above to fall, which was cause enough to pick it up and listen to. Of course the title cut was done by none other than Toots & The Maytals, nice too bad they didn't have "Time Tough" from toots up on there. Also was feeling the Ken Boothe tune,"Is it because I am Black".

Slice up a few red peppers and some onions, set aside. Take 4 or 5 tablespoons of minced garlic, some extra virgin olive oil, fresh or dried rosemary and set aside. ARinse off your shoulder lamb chops in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Now you are ready.

Mix together some allspice, garlic powder, some sweet paprika,a little bit of white pepper and set aside. Rinse off your beef flat ribs. Get the ones that are bbq ready. The come prepackaged in cryovac and the tend to have more meat, uniform shape and are easier to work with as compared to the store versions which tend to be flinstone sized. Take the all spice mixture and..

Oh hey there, nah no worries mate by the time it gets here it will be a typical Noreaster, nothing to go crazy about.

Wow so Killa Cam took some bullets...oooh booo hooo. I wonder if that will translate into album sales?

This sounds like a good idea.

Thats it for today, major brain malfunction..... cya

Weekend Section 2 Level 16

Quick blurbs

WooHooo! Another wet Saturday, well at least we aint down here.

Currently listening to DJ Hype's latest show on Kiss100. He has special guest Shy FX in the studio promotinng his new full length Diary Of A Digital Soundboy.

Well what have we got here, a rack of beef back ribs, some shoulder lamb chops, fresh red peppers, and some fresh brocoli. Thats the beginnings of tomorrows menu. More details in the next post. Speaking of menu, my neice just made some home made italian dressing. Wow smells very good. She even wrote everything down so she can do it the same way next time around. Yesterday she did sugar cookies.

I think cannibal mentioned something about Ice Cube in one of his comments on my Monday post. The guy who's blogging about Cube also posted some tunes..

Oh wait a sec Hype is playing something from Shy FX's new album....

Ok I'm back, yeah the fella posted some cube songs. It was good to hear Endangered Species feat. Chuck D. And I do beleive that was some Bomb Squad production on there. Ahh those were the days, strong lyrics strong production.

Much thanks to C-Smoothe for the phone call. I may actually check out that Pay Per veiw wit u at the Dunk. Whaddup To Ken Anderson for the inquiry. Got a call from the l's the other day to. I think his mag is on hiatus for a bit but he does have distribution if I remember the convo. We're supposed to have a sit down next week so he can pick my brain.

Was checking out some Baltimore Club music the other day by some dude named Cex,I think it was done in 2004. What you never heard some Club music or Baltimore Breaks or whatver. Here check out this track from rodd lee. And here's a link to that cex mx. Not sure how long it will last. Grabbed the link from Drunk and Focused.

What are you gonna put on your new ipod.

Wow Shy Fx is playing a gaggle o dubs...

Thats about it for now....cya!!!

Throooshter 17!

Open padded case, remove scope, barrel, and brace.Check the area again for any persons. Now the waiting begins... Oh hey there I didn't see you climb up the side. Me I'm just up here enjoying the scenery. This, oh its a special measuring device, yeah thats it a measuring device.

Currently listening to a stream of Intabeats with DJ Baily that aired on 1Xtra Sunday the 16th,nice. From what I' read about this show he tends to spin more of the experimental D&B bass but this time around i caught a few recognizable tunes. I'm really feelin the Girlz track by Potential Bad boy feat fats, i do believe I heard DJ Hype or J Majik dropping it. I think shy Fx played it ina set also. A newer tune utilizes abunch of Instant messengr sound fxs, name of the song Aim'd At You by Brokie & Ed Solo. Yeah getting into the Drum & Bass very much now. Maybe I'll slide back towards the Hip Hop in a little bit. Hmmmmm

Been catching up on my adult swim viewing, especially s-CRY-ed I read the manga some time ago, but as usual the anime is a bit different. I would rather check out the subtitled version but I'll suffer through the dub. Also starting to like Fullmetal Alchemist. InuYasha is a given, Naruto is ok,gotta catch up on my Shonen Jump reading though,so I can compare the manga to the Anime, same goes for One Piece.

Here's an article regarding the Sauce magazines latest beef. Wow gotta love Hip Hop. Yeah who doesn't love Hip Hop? Well read this. Much thanks to my brother Joe for forwarding me that article.

For all of those broadband users who use voice over internet protocols like Vonage, guess who's gonna be listening in.

Free wi-fi! Industry doesn't want to here that f word.

And finally if yall are tired of those grey Timbos, why dont you creat ya only specially designed pair.

Ok enjoy the evening.

October 19, 2005

Hmmmmm Day

G'Day mate, started to listen to this double cd entitled Niney & Friends Blood & Fire: Hit Sounds From The Observer Station 1970-1978. Almost called up Operative 15 to come by and set up his 18's so I could blast this stuff out in the yard. Max romeo,Dennis Alcapone,The Ethiopians, wow pure fire here!

Grab about three good sized onions, some smoked sausage,3 or 4 white potatoes, frozen geen peas, cumin, allspice, garlic powder or minced garlic, salt free mesquite grill seasoning, flour and some beef stock. Do a rough slice on the onions and set aside, peel and chop the potatoes in to chunks set em in some cold water till your ready to use em. Slice the smoked sausage in half lengthwise, then slice into chunks. Get out your oval shaped roaster pan w lid. Spray a litlle non stick on. Not to much because the smoked sausgae will generate its own amount of grease. Place the pan over a medium high heat, then...

Oh hey there how yall doing. Yeah its the middle of the week and the above recipe was yesterdays one pot meal. From the amount that the was left over it looked as if everyone enjoyed it,even my godson/nephew who tends to be a bit picky sometimes. As mentioned above I started listening to the Niney and Friends cd (its the wake to music cd alarm) then did the morning rituals. Later on I popped in on of those dreaded "reggae mx cds" that my friend hates. dude have you faxed the spot yet cause it looks like ya buddy Rau is getting orders on the regular from there. Currently I am listening to a stream of a Dj Bailey mix from LIQUIDFUNK.CO.UK after that I checked out the calibre one feat DRS handlin the hosting duties, nice. DRS has a nice flow not as crazy as some of the other jungle mcs well he's mellow on this set but I digress.

Yesterday was Tuesday so a few things of interest to me dropped in ya local chain store.

6 Hole Records recording artist asamov dropped their latest release And Now. featuring Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, J-Live and others helping out these Jacksonville Floridians. ABB Records represents with the new one from Big Tone, had the advance for a minute, now I gotta dig it out again from the pile o doom. On the world music scene the same label that brought you Bar Bhangra comes the newest release in that series. This time around they're featuring Brazilian influenced tunes in a collection called Bar Brazilia feat Thievery Corporation, Ive Mendes, Ursula 1000 and a gang of others. Gonna have to add that to my wish list. Also from the same label is Cuba Cuba put together by the same person that brought you the Hecho En Cuba series.

Finally got around to checking out APPLESEED, crazy amount of cgi in this Anime release. Also checked out DEAD LEAVES. Which is a hella crazy anime release. Way to much going on at once sometimes.

Black Boot Stompin!

Greetings all, slowly but surely getting back in to the swing of things here in the zone.

Currently streaming the latest DJ Hype Show on Kiss100fm. Kind of different this time around cz Hype aint there. He's tied up in transit from Japan, so J majik is filling in for him. Nice change up, he's getting usued to the whole radio show thing. He's not as chatty as Hype is but he's doing a good job as a fill in.

Ah yes so I was without my Ibook for a week, which was interesting. Forced me to make do without that particular piece of technology. Made me relaize how much I made use of it. From checking the various news sites, music sites, etc. Pops is outta town which meant I picked up a few more duties on the homefront, which helped distract me from the lack of access.

So I gotta a question regarding whether or not I plan on going back to the spot?.... My answer is H F No!

Oh it looks like Chef Chen Kenichi is heating up his rice cooker. Wow whats thats he's putting in? It looks like coconut milk, yes I do beleieve its coconut milk...

Gotta love that Iron Chef show on Food Network

Ah so yall missed out on a few interesting menu selections. Well here's a tease:

Chop up two onions and set aside, open up your dried black eyed peas and sort through removing any small rocks..wow sister did up some black eyed peas w smoked turkey parts for internationational night at the church. From what I understand they went through em real quick!

After marinating the steak tips over night, slice into smaller pieces and set aside. Make your flour mixture using freshly cracked black pepper, some onion powder, garlic powder,a dash of cumin ( small dash, stuff is potent,a little goes a long way) a litte bit of salt and some flour, mix well and set aside. That was the beginings of a pot of beef stew, and since it was a good sized packed of meat, i used some of em for a beef & veggy stir fry. Yesterdays Menu was just some roasted chicken thighs, roasted garlic mashed potatoes (remember folks a food mill is your friend) man nothing like the sell of roasted garlic...mmm mmm and some smothered spinach with sauteed onions, and a dash of ground ginger. My niece made chocolate chip cookies last night and damn they tasted good. All I did is remind her to pre heat the oven then I went to bed.

Well we made out well from the passing rain and wind,we had some water in the basement, and across town at my brothers spot the lost some vinylt siding but it wasn't as bad as other parts of the state, plus the govenor is considering making a declaration.

And please join me in cheering on Wilma the next major weather maker heading towards the Gulf Of Mexico.

Much thanks to Cannibal for the mention. Check the shared thoughts for my long winded reply.

And it looks like Fearless Leader has another court date tomorrow. cmon big fine, big fine!

Thats all for now, enjoy the day

October 14, 2005

Friday

Ah yeah finally got the Ibook back up and running. Turns out I needed a new logic board. Wow thats what happened with my Tangerine Ibook, but this time around I had AppleCare and it' didn't cost me a thing to replace the logic board, huzzahs.

October 09, 2005

Sunday Morning

Whaddup yall. My Ibook crashed big time Thursday. Will find out how bad it is in a few days. Which means no updates for a bit. I may do the library thing, but knowing me I might get to engrossed with all of those books and completely forget to use the computers for internet access.

Oh well wish me luck.

Oh yeah, I stopped by the store Friday to see if fearless leader had my pay. He was all smiles when he saw me until I asked him for my pay, then he got a frown on his grill and said no. So I walked out. Went home and called the State Labor Board.

The lawyer option is there, but that may cost more money then its worth. There are a few other options but I really don't wanna do time,so I'll just wish unfortunate accidents towards fearless leader.

How am I doing todays post you may ask? Well at my weekend job they have internet access, but they block access to all of the mail services.

BTW if you want to prank phone call someone....

just make sure you block your number
