Fiction II

From the first entry:

The lights changed from green to red and the stage took on a yellow glow as a tall dark skinned rasta approached the turntables, bopping to the beat. Thooosaaka & Shogun were off to the side until Dead placed his first record on the turntable, and in a flash of green light and smoke, Shogun & Thooosaaka disappeared to be replaced by three doom dancers with the jamaican symbol on the back of their robes....

And now we proceed:

I've got to ring Lisa about this, I know she'll really be pissed having missed out on Dooms Appearance, plus the introduction of a new disciple. Jase flipped open his mobile only to be confronted with a dead screen. Thats weird, I charged up before I left the hotel. And I do remember snapping a few shots of those cosplayers outside in the park earlier. Damn they must be using a jammer or something. Wow Dead Dread is dropping his first tune.

And indeed he was, the mass of Doom Dancers in front of the stage began to sway to the rhythm of a ragga dubplate of Damian Marley's "Welcome To Jamrock" but instead of Welcome To Jamrock, the chorus has become Welcome to Dreadrock.

Wicked he has his own dubplates, Jase whispered as he began to descend the stairs towards the front of the arena, but before he could get to the bottom of the stairs he was stopped by a large man with the Doom insignia branded into his right arm. His body was that of a young body builder, but his eyes were cold, almost lifeless, and they spoke volumes of the many battles he has witnessed,

"You may go no further young one, not until the dancers have finished their" -

"Opening Spectacle,"

These last two words were not spoken by the guard but by a figure to right with a blue buzz cut,old style timbaland hiking boots, leather vest and a kilt with red suspenders. Jase was struck by the fact that he recognized the voice of his associate from the good days by the name of Devon.

"Over ere Jase grab a seat and watch," said Devon.

Upon closer inspection Jase noticed the scarring on Devons face and realized that Devon did not escape the power riots in the city as he did a few years back.

"Well mate I'm glad to see you made it back in before they closed the borders."

"Yeah, as if closing the borders will be the answer to their problems," Jase mumbled as he took a seat next to Devon.

More to come
